NORTH CAROLINA FOOTHILLS

ASSOCIATION OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSES (NCFAOHN)

Welcome to the home page for the North Carolina Foothills Association of Occupational Health Nurses. This Association is one of the seven local chapters of the North Carolina Association of Occupational Health Nurses (NCAOHN) and is also a chapter of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN).

The Foothills Association consists of nurses who are practicing in the field of occupational and environmental health nursing. These nurses either reside or practice in the following counties:

Alexander

Alleghany      Ashe

Caldwell

Catawba

Davie

Iredell

Rowan            Surry

Watauga

Wilkes

Yadkin

The Foothills chapter meets quarterly.  The meetings start at 3:30pm with the business meeting conducted during dinner that begins at 5:00- 5:45pm with the educational program that continues after dinner. Programs provide CEU’s dealing with issues concerning occupational health nurses.

Meetings are held at Davis Regional Medical Center in Statesville

Two scholarships are offered for each quarterly meeting to assist nurses in financial need. During 2014, we will provide an additional scholarship for all four meetings as a memorial to member Jo Alexander, who passed away in August 2013.

As a way of "giving back" to our community, FAOHN members support various non-profit organizations in our surrounding counties. A cash offering is collected at each meeting and donated to an organization selected by a member.
